With the fall setting in I had a few ideas for paintings that reminded me of summer, in particular green smoothies for breakfast.  This is the scene for an ideal breakfast – the components for a green smoothie, blended and drunk from a glass while looking out of a window.  Sometimes I like these innocent projects that don’t have any expectations at the start and are a no-brainer to paint.

I love the lime green in the following “movement” piece that includes a sprinkle of fresh kiwi fruit, almonds and dried apricots on a plate.  Could you have guessed these food items if I hadn’t told you what they were?
