Presenting the last of the Casper least the last I painted.

This is the final painting of a three-piece series of action shots of the Casper Coyotes hockey players. The Casper Coyotes are a junior hockey team in Wyoming, where I went to graduate school.

Another Ice Hockey Player

coyotes-2Now that I have new ideas for a series of hockey player paintings I am painting like a fiend. Here is the goalie named Daniel whom I used to live with. Keep an eye out for more renditions of these entertaining hockey players.

Casper Coyotes Ice Hockey Players

Once upon a timcoyotes-1e in 2016 I lived with several members of a junior ice hockey team in Casper, Wyoming. This is the first of a series of paintings I am working on that depict them playing on the ice.  This is an image of a player who just scored the team’s winning goal.

Driving Along the Coastal Road

I decided to create a vacation-type scene and made up the image as I went right before I went to Oregon for vacation.  I like the colors and lighthearted feel of this painting.  Driving along the coast

Impressionist Scenes from Memory

rsz_ladies_at_a_partyLately I have been creating compositions using my imagination and memory of scenes.  I think they came out quite well.  This painting is of two ladies at a party, and was inspired by the happenings at my friend Kim’s 40th birthday party.  Below is an imagined city scene of Denver, Colorado.  Denver city scene

A Wishful Summer Vacation

TahitiAfter completing my first semester of graduate school I was able to complete this island like scene that resembles an exotic location such as Tahiti or Indonesia.  It might be a while until I can go to an exotic place or paint another picture.

A Mermaid Pouting

Small MermaidWhile I struggled to finish the pouting mermaid (left) I took a break and returned to finish the “headless horsemen” (bellow) which I started in November. The piece was challenging due to the obscure composition I chose. I originally wanted to create a feminine looking piece but don’t think it conveys here.  I don’t know if I’ve created enough depth and emotion within both the human bodies or the horses.

This year I’m working on improving my photos of these oil paintings posted to this blog. Hopefully I can post clearer images that are more focused.
